RIVERSIDE, CA — On Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 10:00 A.M., an incident involving the use of lethal force occurred at 3782 Tyler Street in Riverside. Personnel from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the Specialized Enforcement Division, were attempting to serve a felony, no-bail warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Jaque Rabon of Loma Linda.
According to department records, Rabon was a documented gang member wanted for violations of P.C. 211 (Robbery), P.C. 245(B) (Assault with a Semiautomatic Firearm), and P.C. 29800(A)(1) (Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm). During the attempted arrest, a lethal force encounter took place. Rabon was pronounced deceased at the scene. No law enforcement personnel or bystanders reported injuries during the event.
Following the encounter, the Riverside Police Department and the Department of Justice responded to the location. The Department of Justice has assumed the lead role in the investigation.
