Point-in-Time Count guides homeless services across SB County

San Bernardino County recently conducted its Homeless Point-in-Time Count, recording all of the unhoused individuals in various cities across the county. According to Supervisor Jesse Armendarez, the data gained from the event better helps the county at large and the cities to better serve the vulnerable populations.

“I’ve been doing the event probably for over a decade — when I was a city council member, when I was a school board member, and I also would do it when I was just a resident of the community,” he said. “For people to say we can solve homelessness is a very far reach—but can we get it to a point of manageability? I believe we can.

“It starts with the work we’re doing here today, and the next steps are going to be figuring out how we continue to support those who are at risk.”…
