Overnight rain creates hazardous road conditions, triggers water rescues across SoCal

A fast-moving storm brought strong rain and winds across Southern California overnight, leading to hazardous road conditions, multiple water rescues and toppled trees.

Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in Agoura Hills, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a car that was trapped in a waterway at Triunfo Canyon Road. One man inside had to be rescued.

“I saw that the water was a little steep coming down the road, but even when I tried to back up, my car lost traction and it slid forward,” the man said…
