Rialto water meter box audit starts February 11
Crews with the Rialto Utility Authority (RUA) will begin a meter box audit on February 11 as part of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project. The work will update system records and confirm meter information before new meters are installed. The project is funded by an $8 million grant from the California Department of Water Resources and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
Crews will drive Concord-labeled vehicles and wear Concord uniforms with visible ID badges. All meter boxes are outside, so workers will not need to enter homes or businesses. Water service will not be interrupted, though crews may clear small areas of grass or shrubs to reach the meters…
