Detectives have reopened an investigation into the cold case murder of a man found shot to death in Riverside County in 2002.
On Aug. 11, 2002, Thermal Station deputies responded to a crash near Avenida Mendoza and Calle Durango in La Quinta around 4:15 a.m.
