School’s failures led to death of CA girl hit by bottle, claim says

Khimberly Zavaleta Chuquipa, 12, stood in the hallway of her Southern California school in mid-February, trying to defend her sister from a group of students.

During a scuffle at Reseda Charter High School, Khimberly was hit in the head with a metal water bottle, according to a government claim filed by the family against the Los Angeles County Unified School District.
