Riverside removes Chavez tribute from council agenda

Riverside will not honor Cesar Chavez, the late labor leader and civil rights activist now being accused of sexual abuse during his time as head of the United Farm Workers.

The city council was to have voted March 24 on a proclamation recognizing March 31, 2026, as Cesar Chavez Day, but that item has been removed from the agenda, according to a statement on the city’s website.
