New affordable homes for veterans on E Street

Construction has begun on a 30-unit affordable housing project for homeless veterans at 1351 North E Street. The project, led by U.S. Vets, held a ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday, March 25, with city and county leaders in attendance. The City of San Bernardino contributed $4 million in funding to support the development.

The three-story building will offer one- and two-bedroom units for veterans and their families earning between 30% and 50% of the Area Median Income. Each home will include a modern kitchen and bathroom, and residents will have access to on-site services such as case management, food and hygiene supplies, transportation, and job support. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027
