Live Explosive Round Found at Palm Springs Airport, Marine Detained

New details have been confirmed following a major security response at Palm Springs International Airport.Palm Springs Police say the Transportation Security Administration discovered a live 25mm explosive round during routine screening around 12:05 p.m., prompting a coordinated emergency response.Authorities say the device was identified as live ordnance, leading to the involvement of Palm Springs Police, the Riverside County Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, and military officials.The individual involved has been identified as 30-year-old Ryan Weaver of Henderson, Texas. According to investigators, Weaver told officers he found the round in a field about a year ago and believed it was not live. Due to rust and corrosion, identifying markings were no longer visible, making it difficult to determine its status at the time.Out of caution, officials left the item undisturbed until EOD teams could assess it.
