Fast-moving wildfire erupts in Southern California as residents near Moreno Valley flee for their lives

A significant region east of Lake Perris in Riverside County had to be evacuated as the 1,500-acre Springs fire continued to spread, according to a spokesperson.

A rapidly spreading brush fire east of Moreno Valley, in California, expanded to approximately 2,817 acres on Friday, April 3, leading to evacuation orders and road closures. As of 3 p.m., the fire was at 0% containment, reports Desert Sun.

The Springs Fire was reported around 11 a.m. Friday in the 15900 block of Gilman Springs Road, per the Riverside County Fire Department, initially estimated at 5 acres but swiftly expanding.
