Verticalsim has announced that John Wayne Airport (KSNA) is in development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, marking one of three upcoming airport projects from the developer. Located in Southern California near Disneyland, the airport is known for its short runway and strict noise-abatement procedures, offering a more demanding and engaging flying experience compared to typical airfields.
The upcoming scenery will feature detailed terminal modelling, the Clay Lacy Aviation FBO, accurate ground layouts and markings, and an authentic Southern California atmosphere. Verticalsim also confirmed that development is being supported by collaboration with real-world airport personnel to ensure a high level of operational accuracy, with more previews and details expected soon.
