Pinpoint Weather: Heat remains this week with daily rain chances

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A few showers and storms remain possible this evening as a cold front works its way through the region. A couple of showers could linger into tonight as mild conditions will be present with lows in the 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain warm for Monday with afternoon highs back in the 80s across the area.

Behind the front with high pressure nudging in, temperatures will trend a touch cooler as Tuesday highs fall into the upper 70s to low 80s. However, as the high pressure tracks over the Atlantic, southwesterly flow will set up returning the heat and humidity as highs will soar back into the 90s.

Drier air attempts to move in with the front, but spotty showers remain possible Monday and Tuesday, mainly over the mountains. As a warm front lifts north, there will be better coverage for showers and storms on Wednesday.

As the heat and humidity build by mid-week, a daily PM shower and storm chances will persist through the end of the week with highs in the 80s and 90s.
