Annual Roanoke Juneteenth Family Reunion back at Eureka Park

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Friday, we recognize Juneteenth; marking June 19, 1865, when news of freedom reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

It’s a day to reflect on the fight for equality and celebrate Black resilience, culture, and progress.
