ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Daily storm chances will persist for the week ahead with multiple disturbances passing overhead. Most storm activity from Sunday afternoon will wind down tonight with low temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. Monday will be warm and humid as highs climb into the 80s and low 90s.
The morning will be quiet until scattered storms begin to develop in the afternoon and evening hours. Storms may contain strong winds and heavy rainfall, leading to localized flooding. A Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather is outlined over the eastern half of the region.
As a front lingers nearby, showers and storms will continue to be possible in the afternoon hours throughout much of the week. We have left the influence of the strong heat dome; therefore, high temperatures will be closer to average in the 80s to low 90s.
