ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WDBJ) – Data centers. We’ve talked so much about them, but new reporting shows another one might be heading to our hometowns. It’s a development trend being witnessed across the state.
Virginia has the most current and planned data facilities in the country, with the Pew Research Center saying the state has nearly 700. Most are located in Northern Virginia. Of those, around 400 are operational. Meanwhile, nearly 300 are still in planning phases.
