Franklin County Board of Supervisors approves referendum to place 1% sales tax increase on November ballot

Franklin County voters will be asked to approve a one percent general retail sales tax on the November ballot. The Franklin County Board of Supervisors approved the referendum at the July 21 meeting for the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the County School District.

The five-year plan is designed for capital improvements to existing schools and a new Career and Technology Education Center. The authority to collect this tax is good for 20 years.
