ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – The CDC says it can coordinate up to 36 investigations into multi-state foodborne illness outbreaks each week, involving germs such as E. coli, salmonella, listeria, and parasites like cyclospora, which has been linked to a nine-state outbreak.
A clinical psychologist says the volume of food safety alerts can trigger anxiety responses — but there is a distinction between healthy caution and a clinical concern.
