Former RAM House client now leads recovery efforts ahead of new facility opening

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Thirty years ago, Danny Cox walked into the Roanoke Area Ministries day shelter looking for a meal. Today, he works there as the director of Recovery — and he is waiting for the doors of a new, larger facility to open.

Cox said he first visited RAM House in the 1990s while experiencing homelessness and addiction.

“In the 90s, I used to come to Ram House and eat lunch. I was homeless and addicted then. I never planned, honestly, to live this long… so I literally got a new lease at life when I was 49,” Cox said…
