Behavioral coach shares tips to beat “Sunday Scaries”

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – For many, the end of the weekend brings an unwelcome visitor known as the “Sunday Scaries” a wave of anticipatory anxiety and dread about the upcoming work or school week.

Behavioral coach Mike Basevic, founder of No Limits Nation and author of “The Broken Sage,” said these feelings are a learned emotional response rather than an unavoidable reality. According to Basevic, the subconscious mind learns through repetition, prompting fear when it anticipates the stress of Monday.

“Number one is a conscious thought. I can think of blue cars, I can think of beaches, I could think of Paris. I could take my mind anywhere I want,” Basevic said. “And we’ve got to be really aware of what we’re feeding our mind through these conscious thoughts.
