OUTER BANKS, NC (WAVY) – For Roanoke couple Jayden Sink and Kimberly Laprad, Friday was supposed to be their big day. After getting engaged in December of last year, the couple began planning their beach wedding on the Outer Banks.
“We very quickly came to the understanding that Kim really wanted a beach wedding,” Sink said. “She likes being by the beach. It was supposed to be a really good time. Everything was kind of going as planned.”
With everything set up, the couple drove to Waves, NC earlier this week, only for Mother Nature to have other plans. A nor’easter bringing high winds and strong waves has left NC 12 damaged, meaning their families couldn’t reach them.
