ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — A Roanoke jury has convicted a 34-year-old man of second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of murder in the December 2024 killing of Rafael Perez-Naranjo, prosecutors said.
Juan Quontell Welton was found guilty following a two-day trial held Monday and Tuesday in Roanoke City Circuit Court, according to the Roanoke City Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Police responded about 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2024, to Affordable Corporate Suites in the 4800 block of Lanford Street Northwest after a report of a person who had been shot.
