ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – The Historical Society of Western Virginia (HSWV) has announced a $430,000 campaign to relight and restore downtown Roanoke’s H&C Coffee sign.
The sign has been part of the downtown skyline for decades, but what was the glow of a coffee urn pouring into a cup has deteriorated, leading to the restoration campaign, according to the Historical Society.
Restoration work is expected to begin this year, according to HSWV, with the relighting planned in time for H&C Coffee’s 100th anniversary in 2027. Anyone who wants to be part of bringing the sign back to life can learn more and contribute to the Light the Skyline campaign at roanokehistory.org/historical-society/donate/…
