33 pounds of marijuana seized by Virginia State Police at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport

ROANOKE, VA (WVNS) — Virginia State Police reported that more than 30 pounds of marijuana were seized from a passenger at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.

A passenger flying into the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport was caught by the Star City & Violent Crime Task Force after a K-9 unit flagged the passenger’s luggage. When police searched the luggage, 33 pounds of marijuana were found and seized by the the Star City & Violent Crime Task Force.

This incident remains under investigation by the the Star City & Violent Crime Task Force, comprised of the Roanoke Police Department, Salem Police Department, Roanoke County Police Department, and the Virginia State Police.
