Man caught with stolen motorcycle from Virginia

Sunbury, Pa. — A Wilkes-Barre man was arrested after he brought a stolen motorcycle in for repairs at a Northumberland County shop.

Mygod Michael Kelley, 36, took the 2021 Sherco motorcycle for repairs on Dec. 22 to Mile Hill Cycle in Upper Augusta Township. Trooper Aaron Brown of state police at Stonington said Kelley told staff there his name was “Shawn White.” Staff looked up the motorcycle’s VIN number and realized it was potentially stolen.

Brown investigated and found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen on Oct. 6, 2021 in Roanoke, Virginia, according to the affidavit. When Kelley returned to the shop on Jan. 31, police were called and took him into custody.

Police charged Kelley with a felony count of receiving stolen property through the office of District Judge Rachel Wiest-Benner in Sunbury.
