You may have recently received a notification of real estate value reassessments from the city of Roanoke in your mail. On Tuesday, KC Bratton, director of real estate valuation for the city, will present to the council what the proposed reassessments look like for the city as a whole.
The council will also consider two rezonings recommended by the planning commission last week: Riverdale in Southeast Roanoke and the old Walker Machine & Foundry property.

Bratton’s presentation shows that Roanoke had an 8.23% projected total increase in assessed value from July 2024 assessments, with the city’s residential assessed values showing an overall increase of 10.92%.
