SALEM, Va. (WSET) — Protestors gathered outside the Salem VA Medical Center to voice their opposition to recent federal job cuts affecting the facility. Demonstrators expressed concern over the impact on veterans’ care and the livelihoods of employees.
“They care about the country, they care about the vets. They come here to help them, which helps our country. I mean, you know, if it wasn’t for the vets, we wouldn’t have our freedoms,” said protestor Clinton Robertson.
Workers reported that more than 20 probationary employees received termination emails from the Office of Personnel Management last Tuesday. However, the Salem VA has not confirmed the exact number of job cuts…
