ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – WDBJ7 requested some statistics from the Roanoke Police Department to see if there has been an uptick or decline in shootings in the city. We broke down those numbers and spoke with a nonprofit organization about the work it does to prevent gun violence in the city.
Statistics show shootings in Roanoke, fatal and non-fatal, haven’t changed much compared to this time last year.
According to RPD, no one died from gun violence in January of this year or last. There were five non-fatal shootings reported this year compared to the four last year…
