Blacksburg, Va. – A cold, soaking rain will blanket much of Virginia starting early Tuesday, dropping up to 1.5 inches of precipitation and sending temperatures 20 degrees below normal.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, rain will move in Tuesday morning and linger into early Wednesday afternoon. Most areas from Roanoke to Danville and Charlottesville can expect between 1.0″ to 1.5″ of rain, with higher amounts possible along the Blue Ridge.
The rain will fall into a colder-than-average air mass, keeping Tuesday highs in the mid-50s to lower 60s—far below late-May norms.
