“I wanted to take my own life”: Roanoke woman recounts journey with Lyme disease

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Most of us have experienced some kind of medical issue, and for one Roanoke woman, it was a medical journey that kept coming to a dead end. It’s a diagnosis that affected roughly 90,000 people in the U.S. last year.

Chronic Lyme disease is a never-ending battle being fought by Valinda Edwards. “The world tried to take me out. Lyme disease tried to take me out, and I’m still here,” Edwards said.
