ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Carilion and Compress & Shock Partner Against Sudden Cardiac Arrest will be hosting an event with a cardiac arrest survivor to highlight the importance of CPR and AED training.
Over 350,000 people suffer from cardiac arrest, with a less than 10% survival rate. Carilion has partnership with Compress & Shock Foundation will in hopes of improving the odds for local communities.
UVA develops new imaging technique to assess heart health risk
This will be the foundation’s 9th Annual CPR/AED Education Day sponsored by Carilion on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center located at 1600 N Franklin Street.
The event is a free all-day health fair with CPR/AED training for registered groups in the New River Valley. Dr. Jack Perkins, founder of Compress & Shock, and a sudden cardiac arrest survivor will also be at the event…
