FINCASTLE, Va. (WDBJ) – A dirt road, tractor, a red barn, and bales of hay – they all tell a story. Meteorologist Robin Reed and farmer Tara Williamson, of Williamson Farms in Fincastle, are the hosts of the Forgotten Fields Project, a podcast with conversations about weather and agriculture.
“We like to think we go to the store, we get our food, we eat it. That’s our linear thought process – A to B, it’s done. But we don’t really think about anything that happens in-between or how it even got there in the first place,” Tara said.
As the former Chief Meteorologist for WDBJ7, Robin has given his fair share of forecasts, but it’s only now that he realizes why some farmers didn’t always appreciate them…
