Man arrested after Roanoke police chase ends in crash

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke City Police said a man has been arrested after a traffic stop allegedly escalated into a vehicle and foot chase on May 20.

RPD said that officers attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 24-year-old D’Allyn Elijah Jones of Roanoke when he allegedly fled, initiating a police chase.

The pursuit ended when Jones crashed into a ditch at the 1100 block of Rockland Avenue NW, police said.

According to RPD, a police cruiser in pursuit followed Jones into the ditch. Jones then allegedly fled from the crash on foot but was quickly taken into custody by officers…
