UNION HALL, Va. (WDBJ) – A major solar energy project is on the table in Franklin County. On Tuesday night, the Franklin County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing and potentially vote on a special use permit request to allow a solar farm to be built on 109 acres off Jack’s Creek Road in the Union Hall area.
So far, the project hasn’t been met with much resistance, and both county staff and the supervisor who represents the Union Hall District said the property is the perfect place for this type of project.
“This location is perfect. It’s an industrial area. It’s near an asphalt plant and a quarry.
