Afternoon fire causes evacuation at historic Roanoke City Market building

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The historic City Market building in Roanoke caught fire shortly before 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, causing the building and all the restaurants it houses to evacuate.

Fire crews quickly brought the fire under control, but remained on scene for several hours to ventilate the building.
