Agape Center celebrates successful golf tournament after unexpected delay

The Agape Center in Moneta hosted its annual charity golf tournament on June 14th at Copper Cove Golf Club in Hardy. Originally slated for May 17th, the tournament was postponed after a fire disrupted operations at Copper Cove Golf Club in Hardy. While the damage was extensive, and the setup a bit different from normal, the Copper Cove team rallied and rescheduled quickly.

Despite the delay, and a short shower to break the heat, spirits were high and turnout was strong. 51 generous sponsors and 20 teams participated in the event, raising over $30,000 for the Agape Center. “We are incredibly grateful for everyone who adjusted their schedules and continued to support this tournament,” said Scott Webber, Director of the tournament team. “The fire was an unexpected challenge, but it reminded us of the loyalty and dedication of our sponsors and golfers and our shared commitment to serving others.”

Congratulations to the tournament’s 1st Place Team (David Miedema, Bill Galeota, Larry Brundege and Wayne Adams), 2nd Place Team (Fred McCain, John Normandy, Barry Wilhelm and Mort Riley) and 3rd Place Team (Doug Hullet, Dennis Gibson, Dennis Motley and CW Livingood)…
