Pinpoint Weather: PM storms continue into next week

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Muggy conditions continue tonight with low temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s with some patchy fog possible overnight, especially in areas that received rain today.

Tomorrow will see temperatures very warm again in the mid-to-upper 80s and lower 90s. Abundant moisture present will keep heat index values ranging from the mid 80s to upper 90s, although below any heat alerts.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible beginning in the afternoon and lasting into the evening hours. A few isolated storms could be strong or severe, with gusty winds and heavy rain to watch out for. Localized flooding issues could be possible as storms will likely move slowly again.

Similar conditions persist into Monday with warm afternoon temperatures alongside afternoon/evening storms. A Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather exists both Sunday and Monday for isolated storms with damaging winds that could knock down trees or power lines.

A cold front will pass through Tuesday that will spark more showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. Behind the front, some drier air moves in with temperatures seasonal in the 80s. Rain chances will decrease as well heading into the 4th of July…
