BOTETOURT, Va. (WFXR) – Botetourt County Department of Fire and EMS is rolling out a new incentive program aimed at strengthening its volunteer ranks. Starting tomorrow, volunteers in Botetourt County will be eligible to earn between five and 20 dollars for every emergency call they run.
Zach Beckner, Fire Chief at Troutville Fire Department, said, “It’s maximizing the incentive that they get for coming down to volunteer. Certainly, the incentive for any volunteer is we are out there serving the community without a paycheck.”
