ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – It’s a Thanksgiving tradition in Roanoke, and people will soon be hitting the pavement. Every Thanksgiving morning, many lace up their running shoes, bundle up in turkey-themed gear, and head downtown to take part in the Drumstick Dash.
This year marks the 20th annual race, and early registration is looking strong. Along with the sponsor lineup, according to Lisa Thompson, director of development and communications at the Rescue Mission of Roanoke.
“We opened up some new sponsor opportunities this year at the Dash, like a stage sponsor and just some different and new things,” Thompson said. “And our businesses and organizations are really responding to that, so we’re filling up sponsorships really fast.”…
