Be on the lookout for utility-related scams, says Appalachian Power

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Appalachian Power is urging its customers to be aware of utility-related scams as temperatures continue to soar across the commonwealth.

Scammers often take advantage of these kinds of weather conditions to prey on individuals, using high-pressure tactics to demand instant payment, threaten disconnection or claim to partner with the company to lower bills through solar installation, said the company.
