Pinpoint Weather: Hot, humid, and stormy weather continues into next week

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A few storms remain possible through this evening before clearing into the night. Overnight conditions will be muggy with lows in the 60s to low 70s alongside a chance for some patchy fog, especially over areas that saw rain today.

Tomorrow will once again be hot and humid with high temperatures climbing into the mid 80s to low 90s. Heat index values will be elevated in the upper 80s to upper 90s near 100 with the hottest east of the Blue Ridge.

Scattered showers and storms are likely across the region beginning in the afternoon and lasting throughout the evening.

A few isolated storms may be strong to severe as there is a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather highlighted over the eastern most portion of the area. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat. With slow storm motions and heavy rain, localized flooding is also possible.

Heading into the workweek, a similar weather pattern continues with the chance for afternoon/evening showers and storms each day. It will stay hot and humid with highs in the 80s to low 90s with heat index values a few degrees higher…
