BALTIMORE, Md. (7News) — A Virginia man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to four charges related to an online group known as “Purgatory,” which he was involved in with a Maryland man, to coordinate criminal activities, according to Kelly O. Hayes U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.
Evan Strauss of Moneta, Virginia, pled guilty to conspiracy, cyberstalking, interstate threatening communications, and threats to damage or destroy using fire and explosives. Strauss will face a maximum of 10 years in federal prison. His two 19-year-old co-conspirators, Brayden Grace from Ohio and Owen Jarboe from Maryland, pled guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
