Blacksburg, Virginia – Dry conditions won’t last much longer across Southwest Virginia, as increasing clouds Monday give way to overnight rain moving in from the south, bringing scattered showers into Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, a wedge of high pressure is holding temps below average—topping out in the 70s in the mountains and low 80s in the Piedmont—but it’s also setting the stage for a shift. Clouds will thicken by evening, with rain likely after midnight, especially west of I-77 and south of US-460. Tuesday brings off-and-on showers, most frequent in the North Carolina mountains and near the Virginia border.
