Virginia Tech’s secondary overhaul was pretty massive, bringing in more than a handful of transfer portal additions between safety and cornerback. While several members of the transfer class bring versatility to the table, cornerback Isaiah Brown-Murray might be the most versatile of them all.
The East Carolina transfer has emerged as a key figure in Sam Siefkes’ defense, taking reps at both outside corner and nickel during fall camp. That positional flexibility should make Brown-Murray a plug-and-play weapon when the Hokies open the season against South Carolina, allowing the Hokies to shift their scheme without having to shuttle a bunch of players in and out.
“I do both every day, with the corner and the nickel,” Brown-Murray said at Virginia Tech’s media day. “It’s challenging with reps, but it’s getting easier.”…
