Bedford County Sheriff Mike Miller has been named the top D.A.R.E. administrator for 2025, having received the 2025 Gary B. Payne D.A.R.E. Administrator of the Year award. Sheriff Miller was recognized at the ‘2025 Virginia School Safety Executive Forum – Leading the Way in School Safety’ held at the Hampton Convention Center in Hampton on July 30th.
The Gary Payne Administrator of the Year award is given annually to a law enforcement administrator who has demonstrated a high degree of commitment to the D.A.R.E, or Drug Abuse Resistance Education program in his or her community and state. This award is given by the Virginia D.A.R.E Association Inc.
