Seven displaced after fire causes $175K in damage, dog rescued with oxygen mask

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Officials with Roanoke County Fire and Rescue say one person was taken to the hospital and seven people are displaced, following a house fire in Vinton.

According to officials, when initial crews arrived, they found a single-story home with heavy smoke coming from the garage on Thursday, August 21, at 12:17 a.m. in the 200 block of Gunn Avenue.

One occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A dog was also rescued from the home and had to be resuscitated with an oxygen mask. The other dog in the home was able to escape without any injuries…
