Blacksburg, Va. – A cold front sliding into Virginia late Sunday is expected to unleash another round of showers and thunderstorms, raising the risk of localized flooding west of the Blue Ridge.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, the greatest likelihood of rain will be concentrated in southwest Virginia and the mountains of North Carolina, where storm cells could produce heavy downpours. Widespread totals of 0.1 to 0.25 inches are likely, though some areas could see up to a half-inch of rainfall.
