Christiansburg man sentenced in pawn shop break-in scheme, stolen firearms

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- A Christiansburg man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for his role in a scheme to break into a pawn shop and steal firearms.

According to a press release by Acting U.S. Attorney Robert Tracci, Austin Hixon, 36, was the fifth and final co-conspirator in the case. Justin Cumbee, Michael Hall, Ronald Perry, and Malcom Stanton were previously sentenced.

Court records indicated that Perry broke into the 1st Pawn in Fairlawn on November 1, 2022 and stole 15 firearms. The weapons were divided up with Hall and Stanton. Later, several of the stolen guns were sold or traded for drugs.
