Four residents displaced from house fire in SW Roanoke, dog rescued

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke Fire and EMS Department responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of Russell Avenue SW that displaced four residents and their family pet.

On Saturday, August 30, around 6:51 a.m., crews responded to the address and found heavy smoke coming from the front of the home.

According to crews, the occupants were able to escape the home; however, they advised crews their dog was still inside. The dog was rescued around 7:04 a.m.
