BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) — The Bedford Police Department is investigating following a theft Thursday afternoon.
Just before 1 p.m., the department said two people were engaging in a private sale in the parking lot of a Shell gas station on Burks Hill Road, when a third person came up, grabbed the item and ran away. The suspect was wearing dark clothing at the time.
Rumors were circulating online that an armed robbery had taken place at the gas station, but the police department said that this was not the case, and that no guns were displayed during this incident. The department reiterated that the gas station itself had nothing to do with the situation…
