ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine has welcomed its largest incoming class since the program’s inception in 2010.
According to Virginia Tech, the expansion is part of the university’s multi-year plan to increase access to medical education while addressing shortages in medical professions, especially in our region. The Association of American Medical Colleges estimates the U.S. could face a shortage of up to 86,000 physicians by 2036.
